This year's Spotlight Summer Ball for CDS / CDET students is taking place at the Café de Paris on 25th May.
For one night only, hundreds of students from all over the country will get together to celebrate their end of term, and wave farewell to their final-year students as they begin their professional careers.

Spotlight and its partners Breakdown Services (US and Canada) and Showcast (Australia and New Zealand) met in London last month for the annual conference of the IACD (International Alliance of Casting Directories): coordinating their efforts to facilitate the needs of casting directors and performers around the world. All three partners have now upgraded their respective websites to offer production teams the option to send their casting breakdowns directly to these other regions, as well as their local territory, at the click of a button. So, for example, a UK casting director can now use Spotlight to find performers from the US, Canada, Australia or New Zealand and - vice versa - Spotlight performers can instantly be found for work by those casting in these same regions.
